AKA AKA FRRESH PRODUCE LTD – Hamilton, North Island We are looking for a Nursery Person to help grow, care for, and prepare plants for sale and for planting in greenhouses. We are looking for a Nursery Worker to help grow, care for, and prepare plants for sale and for planting in greenhouses. The job involves hands-on work with soil, seeds and plants in Franklin, Waikato and be able to work the following duties: Prepare soil and pots: Mix potting media and fill containers before planting seeds or plants. Make sure the mix has the right nutrients for good plant growth. Plant seeds and cuttings: Choose the right seeds, bulbs, or plant cuttings and plant them in pots, garden beds, or lawn areas. Grafting and budding: Attach cuttings or buds to plant roots to grow new plants. This helps grow stronger or special kinds of plants. Water plants: Water plants by hand or use automatic watering systems. Make sure plants get the right amount of water. Use pest control: Spray or apply pesticides or fertilizers to control bugs, diseases, weeds, or poor soil conditions. Pack and prepare plants: Choose healthy plants, clean them, and package them nicely for delivery or sale. Checking plants daily to spot any signs of disease or stress. Cleaning tools and keeping the nursery area tidy. Labelling plants and updating price tags. Working outdoors in different weather conditions. Maintain correct temperature, humidity, and light in greenhouses or shade houses. Set up trellises, supports, and netting where necessary. The suitable applicant must have at least three years of relevant work experience or a related qualification. Candidates will be paid $28 NZD per hour and will be guaranteed a minimum of 30 hours of work per week, with the potential to work up to 50 hours per week. All the hours will be paid at $28.
