Due to internal movements in the Hawke’s Bay office, we’re looking for an Intermediate Civil Engineer to join our Napier team and contribute to projects that support thriving, resilient local communities. This role is ideal for an all-rounder with a strong civil engineering foundation and who is ready to broaden their consulting experience, grow their technical capability and build trusted client relationships. As an Intermediate Civil Engineer, you’ll support the delivery of practical, innovative solutions across civil infrastructure and land development projects. You’ll contribute to design, reporting, construction support, contract administration and stakeholder engagement, working alongside experienced engineers, scientists, planners and project managers. You’ll have the opportunity to work across projects including flood protection and river engineering, land development and subdivisions, three waters infrastructure, roading and transport, coastal protection, resilience initiatives and public infrastructure upgrades. This position is full-time and based in our Napier office, with the opportunity to contribute to meaningful work across Hawke’s Bay and beyond. What you’ll do Support the delivery of civil infrastructure, land development, three waters, transport and resilience projects. Contribute to civil design, calculations, technical assessments, specifications and design documentation. Prepare clear, high-quality technical reports and project deliverables for clients and stakeholders. Assist with construction monitoring, contract administration and project coordination. Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams across T+T. Engage with clients, councils, contractors and community stakeholders to support successful project delivery. Support proposals, business development and client relationship growth where appropriate to your experience level. Contribute to a positive team culture and support the development of junior staff where appropriate. We’re interested in hearing from people who enjoy solving practical engineering challenges and want to make a meaningful contribution to the communities they work in. Ideally, you’ll bring: Strong experience in civil engineering, ideally within a consulting environment. A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline. Experience delivering civil infrastructure, land development, three waters, roading, transport or resilience projects. Strong project coordination and stakeholder management skills. The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment. Experience with construction monitoring and contract administration would be advantageous. A practical, solutions-focused mindset and a commitment to technical excellence and continuous learning. Progress toward chartership would be an advantage.
