We are seeking a motivated and reliable Head Shepherd to join our well‑run sheep and beef operation. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow their skills, work with quality livestock, and be part of a supportive farming team. The role offers variety, responsibility, and the chance to develop strong stockmanship and dog‑handling abilities. Key Responsibilities Daily care, monitoring, and handling of sheep and cattle Drafting, weighing, and general stock work Assisting with lambing, calving, and animal health treatments Implementing animal health plans and maintaining accurate records Effective use and management of a team of working dogs Pasture monitoring and feed allocation General farm maintenance including fencing, water systems, and machinery operation Skills & Experience We are looking for someone who brings: Experience on a sheep and beef property (intermediate to senior level considered) Confident stock handling and a genuine interest in livestock welfare A capable team of working dogs Good communication skills and the ability to work both independently and within a team Safe operation of farm vehicles and machinery A positive attitude and willingness to learn Personal Attributes Honest, reliable, and self‑motivated Physically fit and prepared for seasonal demands Strong work ethic and commitment to health and safety What’s on Offer Competitive remuneration based on experience A quality 4 bedroomed house is part of the package.
