We're looking for an experienced and reliable Receptionist / Administrator to join our Ashburton team in a permanent, full-time position. This is much more than simply answering the phone. You'll be at the centre of a busy office environment, supporting customers, suppliers, management and the wider team while helping keep day-to-day administration running smoothly. For someone wanting to grow, there is also the opportunity over time to develop your skills and take on greater responsibility across areas such as administration, systems and Health & Safety. About the Role Working closely with the Office Manager and wider team, you'll provide front-of-house service while supporting the administrative functions of the business. A typical day could see you: Managing reception, answering phones and welcoming customers, suppliers, contractors and visitors Receipting supplier invoices and customer orders Completing data entry and maintaining accurate records in SimPRO Monitoring accounts information and supporting accounts administration Assisting with purchasing, stock administration and office supplies Maintaining filing, scanning and document-control systems Coordinating meeting spaces, calendars and general office requirements Running occasional errands between sites and around Ashburton Assisting with basic Health & Safety administration Supporting management and the wider team with general administrative tasks This is a hands-on role where priorities can change throughout the day, so you'll need to be comfortable jumping between tasks and helping wherever needed. What We're Looking For Previous reception, customer service or office administration experience will be valuable, but just as important is finding someone with the right attitude and ability to work as part of a busy team. You’ll ideally bring: Previous reception, customer service or administration experience Excellent communication and customer service skills Strong organisation and time management Good attention to detail and accuracyConfidence using Microsoft 365 and learning new systems An understanding of basic accounts processes such as creditors, debtors, GST and invoice processing A proactive, happy-to-help approach The ability to stay calm and organised when things get busy A current full driver's licence Experience with SimPRO or another ERP/POS system would be useful, although training will be provided.
