NZCL are looking for energetic and motivated people to support our clients in residential service in New Plymouth. We are looking for permanent full time Support Workers to work alongside, coach and mentor adult people we support in our Intensive Support Services in New Plymouth. This is an active and engaging support role, with an day to day activities such as daily walks, swimming, going to the movies, visiting parks and swings. This is a leave cover role, so flexibility around shift times and locations will be a requirement. What does a Support Worker do? | He aha te mahi a te Kaimahi Tautoko Our Support Workers assist Rangitahi and Tamariki who access our services to live as independently as possible in their community. You will: Work as a team to ensure consistency in your approach. Support Tamariki or Rangitahi to go to school or access education. Observe and respond to health concerns or support the overall health and wellbeing of the young person Support Rangitahi/Young People to work towards and attain their goals and improve outcomes. Who are we looking for? | Ko wai ta tatou e rapu ana A desire to support our rangitahi / young people to learn new skills and achieve outcomes. Previous experience working with young people/rangitahi. An understanding of Intellectual disability and Autism. Creativity 'out of the box' thinking and a team player. A full NZ driver's license. Empathy, respect, and cultural awareness is important in this role as the people we support come from diverse backgrounds with varying needs and interests.
