Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this newly positioned Group Financial Controller role provides the opportunity to take ownership of the day-to-day finance leadership function while gaining exposure to strategic financial management across a large and complex national business. This role will particularly appeal to an ambitious Chartered Accountant who has already established themselves in a Finance Manager, Senior Finance Manager, Financial Controller or Senior Business Partner role and is looking for the next step towards a future CFO position. The Opportunity You will lead a capable finance team and take responsibility for: Group financial reporting and statutory compliance Audit management and internal controls Treasury, cashflow forecasting and working capital management Commercial support across regional operations and project teams Finance systems, reporting and process improvement initiatives Development and leadership of the finance function Working closely with an experienced CFO, you will be mentored and exposed to executive-level decision making, Board reporting, strategic planning and the broader commercial drivers of a major project-based business. What We're Looking For You will likely bring: Strong technical accounting and financial reporting capability Experience within commercial organisations with scale and complexity A desire to lead people and influence business outcomes Curiosity, commercial acumen and a continuous improvement mindset The ambition to continue growing your career toward senior executive leadership Experience within construction, engineering, infrastructure, property or project-based industries would be advantageous but is not essential.
