We are seeking a hands‑on, reliable and safety‑focused Carpet Storeperson to join our Christchurch warehouse and carpet sales team based in Wigram. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys warehouse operations, operating machinery, working with quality products, and being part of a supportive team. About the Role Working closely with our other Storeperson and wider flooring team, you will play a key role in ensuring carpet orders are accurately cut, prepared and dispatched while maintaining high standards of warehouse organisation, safety and quality. The role also includes managing carpet sample production and helping maintain our sample room. Key Responsibilities Operating carpet cutting machinery safely and accurately. Measuring, cutting and preparing carpet orders for dispatch. Loading, unloading, storing and organising carpet stock. Operating forklifts and warehouse handling equipment, including carpet prongs and trolley jacks. Working with the Scheduling and Planning team to ensure customer orders are ready on time. Preparing, cutting, trimming and dispatching carpet samples and swatches. Maintaining sample stock and the sample room to a high standard. Assisting with stocktakes and inventory management. Ensuring all products meet quality standards before dispatch. Maintaining excellent health and safety practices at all times. What We're Looking For Previous warehouse, storeperson or distribution experience. Current forklift licence and confidence operating forklifts safely. Experience using pallet jacks, trolley jacks or similar equipment. Good physical fitness and ability to safely undertake manual handling tasks. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organisational skills and a positive work ethic. A genuine commitment to health and safety. Experience in carpet, flooring, manufacturing or building products industries. Experience operating carpet cutting equipment or similar machinery. Experience using forklifts fitted with carpet poles/prongs. Experience with warehouse inventory systems.
