Franklin Smith Group – Queenstown, South Island EXCAVATOR OPERATOR – CIVIL CONSTRUCTION $35–$40/hr depending on experience | 45+ hours per week | Long-term opportunity We’re on the hunt for skilled Excavator Operators who know their way around a machine but are also willing to get stuck in on the ground. This is a great opportunity with a respected civil contractor offering consistent hours, a supportive team environment, and long-term potential. About the Role: Operate 5T–20T excavators across drainage, roading, and earthworks projects Assist with ground tasks such as pipe work, spotting, and general labouring when machines are not in use Support the site team to meet project deadlines and daily targets Work a minimum of 45 hours per week Key Duties: Trenching, backfilling, and site preparation Digging around services and reading site plans Assisting drainage crews and spotting for machinery Liaising with the site foreman to ensure job progression What We’re Looking For: Proven experience operating excavators in civil construction Confidence working around services and to set levels WTR endorsement and a full driver’s licence Reliable, positive attitude and willingness to help on the ground Drainage experience is a strong advantage What’s on Offer: Long-term, steady work with a well-established company A variety of work – every day brings something new A great team culture where your skills are valued Opportunity for a permanent position #J-18808-Ljbffr
