Job Description
Jora New Zealand will close on 9th September 2026. Thank you for being with us, we are cheering you on as you continue your career journey. Clinical Psychologist, School-based Health Service ProCare Network Ltd – Ellerslie, North Island Mental health is a significant issue for rangatahi in Aotearoa, and access to timely support is not always equitable. This school-based psychologist role is an important way to help close that gap. Fresh Minds provides clinical psychology support to several Auckland schools with high levels of need, ensuring young people can access care in a familiar and trusted environment. Working in a school setting offers a meaningful opportunity to be part of a multidisciplinary environment and provide practical, on-the-ground support to rangatahi who may otherwise be harder to reach. The role extends beyond individual therapy and includes supporting school colleagues across health and teaching teams, facilitating group therapy, and delivering presentations to wider student audiences. It is a rewarding opportunity to build strong connections with students and staff within the school community, with work that is both remedial and preventative. Our school-based psychologists are part of the wider Fresh Minds team, with offices in Ellerslie, Manukau and NorthWest Auckland. This role offers flexibility, with time spent in the school health centre alongside other health professionals, including registered nurses and GPs, during school hours, and the option to complete clinical documentation remotely outside of school hours. During school holidays, you will connect with the wider school-based psychology team for in-service training, contribute to the development of innovative programmes and resources for use in schools, and participate in ongoing professional development. This position is based at Avondale College in Auckland and will commence in Term 4. Experience working in a mental health setting, either primary or secondary, including contextual assessments, child, youth and whānau-focused interventions, and youth-focused talking therapies. Training and support are available for early-career psychologists and psychologists planning to return to the workforce.
