Fletcher Construction – Auckland, North Island Fletcher Construction is seeking an Estimating Manager to join our Major Projects team based in Auckland. About the Role Major Projects is entering an exciting new chapter. Under new ownership with VINCI, the business is growing major civil infrastructure work and building the team to match. This is the right moment to join, and this role is right for someone in an Estimating Manager role or ready to step up. In this role, you will lead the estimating function across major civil infrastructure bids. You will set the standard, run the process, develop the team, and bring the kind of expertise and market knowledge that only comes from years of estimating experience and exposure to the New Zealand market. Own the end-to-end preparation of cost estimates for major civil infrastructure bids, from first principles through to final submission Assemble and lead bid teams from the wider New Business group, setting the benchmark for quality and rigour Prepare and hold the top sheet, coordinating inputs across estimators, engineers, designers, subcontractors, and suppliers Lead robust tender pricing reviews including detailed line-by-line estimate scrutiny Drive continuous improvement of estimating systems, processes, and tendering standards across the business Develop the estimating team, growing capability to keep pace with an expanding bid programme What you’ll bring to the role A relevant tertiary qualification, with at least 10 years of estimating experience in civil infrastructure. A minimum of 5 years working in the New Zealand market, with genuine relationships across local suppliers, subcontractors, and key stakeholders At least 5 years as a senior or lead estimator on large civil infrastructure bids, with a record of delivering competitive, well-constructed estimates Expert proficiency in Candy estimating software Sharp commercial instincts and a thorough understanding of contractual risk, tender conditions, and pricing strategy The leadership presence to bring a team with you, communicate a clear direction, and hold high standards About Us Fletcher Construction is a leading construction and infrastructure business delivering complex projects that support New Zealand’s communities, economy and future growth.
