Mō te tūnga | About the role As an Advisor Monitoring and Reviews, you will be part of the External Monitoring and Reviews team within the System Leadership group. The team leads relationships with external monitoring agencies and supports the organisation's response to independent reviews, investigations, and information requests. This is a varied and fast-paced role where you will work across the organisation to coordinate responses, provide advice, analyse information, and ensure Oranga Tamariki meets its statutory and monitoring obligations. You will help ensure that information provided to external agencies is accurate, timely, and supports organisational learning and continuous improvement. Key responsibilities include: Preparing responses to Official Information Act (OIA) requests, Parliamentary Questions (PQs), Privacy Act requests, and other information requests Coordinating responses to enquiries, investigations, and reports from agencies such as the Ombudsman, Independent Children’s Monitor, and Mana Mokopuna Providing advice and support to kaimahi on monitoring, review, and information request processes Analysing information to identify insights, trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement Monitoring statutory deadlines and supporting compliance reporting Building effective relationships with stakeholders across Oranga Tamariki and external agencies Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen monitoring and review practices Supporting responses and reporting associated with Waitangi Tribunal enquiries and external reviews. To be successful in this role, you will be a highly organised and analytical professional who is comfortable managing competing priorities and working with a wide range of stakeholders. You will have strong written communication skills and enjoy turning complex information into clear, concise advice and correspondence. You will bring: Experience in the public sector or a good understanding of government processes and machinery of government Strong written communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear, accurate, and plain-language documents Experience coordinating information and responses from multiple stakeholders Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent relationship management and stakeholder engagement capabilities The ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment Experience in quality assurance, compliance, monitoring, reporting, or advisory functions is desirable An understanding of the Official Information Act and related statutory processes Sound judgement and the ability to appropriately manage risk and sensitive information An appreciation of tikanga Māori and an understanding of cross-cultural perspectives, including Māori and Pacific communities Nōu te rourou | What's in it for you Oranga Tamariki offers a step-based remuneration package that provides annual progression through tenure and experience.
