About the Role The Gastroenterology service at Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty provides specialist services to people living across the Bay of Plenty. The service provides ambulatory outpatient clinics at both Tauranga and Whakatane Hospitals, along with participating in the delivery of endoscopy across both sites. In addition, an acute inpatient service is provided at Tauranga Hospital, alongside an after-hours acute endoscopy service. This role works in partnership with organisational service and business leaders, to support the development and progression of the Service Strategic Plan. The key aims are to ensure access to high quality specialist care, alongside supporting the Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty goals of reducing health disparity and improving outcomes for Māori. This role provides direct leadership, coaching and support to colleagues within the service, and participates in recruitment, professional reviews, and practice development. The successful applicant will have 0.2FTE of their current FTE allocated to the leadership responsibilities, along with an annual allowance/stipend.This leadership role is a three-year tenure. About you This role is about supporting and empowering individuals to develop their skills and overseeing service delivery, to achieve organisational outcomes within budgeted resources. We are looking for someone who can demonstrate leadership qualities when working alongside and supporting their colleagues.
