Programmed Maintenance Services – Christchurch, South Island Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates and tender submissions for commercial, industrial, and infrastructure electrical projects. Review drawings, specifications, and tender documentation to determine project scope. Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations. Identify project risks, opportunities, and value engineering solutions. Develop pricing strategies that maximise profitability while remaining competitive. Participate in tender presentations and client negotiations where required. Key Responsibilities Commercial Estimation Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates and tender submissions for commercial, industrial, and infrastructure electrical projects. Review drawings, specifications, and tender documentation to determine project scope. Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations. Identify project risks, opportunities, and value engineering solutions. Develop pricing strategies that maximise profitability while remaining competitive. Participate in tender presentations and client negotiations where required. Contracts Management Manage multiple electrical projects from award through to practical completion. Administer contracts in accordance with relevant contractual obligations. Monitor project costs, cash flow, variations, and financial reports. Ensure contractual compliance and manage claims, extensions of time, and variations. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers. Project Delivery Coordinate project resources, procurement, scheduling, and site activities. Work closely with Project Managers, Site Supervisors, and electricians to ensure successful project execution. Monitor project progress against construction programmes and budgets. Resolve technical and commercial issues promptly. Conduct project reviews and implement lessons learned. Leadership Mentor and support estimating and project delivery teams. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Assist with business development opportunities and repeat client engagement. Health, Safety & Quality Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety legislation and company policies. Promote safe working practices across all projects. Ensure projects comply with relevant electrical standards, codes, and quality requirements. Skills & Experience Essential Minimum 7 to 10 years of experience within the electrical contracting industry. Extensive experience preparing commercial electrical estimates and tenders. Proven experience managing electrical contracts and project delivery. Strong commercial acumen with excellent cost control and financial management skills. Ability to interpret electrical drawings and specifications. Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills. Strong organisational and time management abilities. High proficiency with Microsoft Office and estimating/project management software. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
