Night Operations Supervisor (OMX) - Auckland Ready to take the next step in your security career? Matrix Security is looking for a Night Operations Supervisor (OMX) to join our Auckland Operations team. Reporting directly to the Head of Operations and liaising closely with Operations Managers and the Monitoring Centre, this is a hands‑on leadership role where no two nights are the same. You'll be out there supporting our patrol and guarding divisions, making good operational decisions, responding when things don't go to plan and ensuring our people have what they need to do a great job. Location: Auckland Hours: 4 on 4 off, 6:00pm - 6:00am What will you be doing? You’ll be one of the key people keeping our night operations running smoothly. Working closely with our Monitoring Centre and Operations Management team, you'll provide guidance and support to our frontline staff and be the person they can turn to when decisions need to be made. Your nights will include: Supporting and supervising our patrol and guarding teams Making sure shifts are fully covered and helping organise last‑minute roster changes as well as fulfilling requests from clients Auditing staff to ensure our service and presentation levels are upheld to our high standards Responding to incidents and helping coordinate the right response Working closely with our Monitoring Centre team throughout the night Guiding staff when they need advice or assistance Keeping an eye on staff welfare, with health and safety a top priority Liaising with customers, Police, emergency services and other providers when required Identifying training or development opportunities for team members Nominating people who are doing a great job for reward and recognition Completing a concise, accurate shift report so the operations team can hit the ground running in the morning Most importantly, you'll help create an environment where our people feel supported, informed and part of a team . What are we looking for? We're looking for someone who enjoys being involved, can think on their feet and is comfortable taking the lead when situations change. You’ll need: At least 5 years’ experience in the security industry A current Certificate of Approval (COA) A full, clean New Zealand driver's licence Outstanding reporting and communication skills A high standard of personal presentation Excellent written and oral English Experience leading people or managing rosters is a bonus, but just as important is your attitude and ability to work well with others. We can teach you the skills and systems, but we can't teach character.
