We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dentist to join the team at Palms Dental Centre in Christchurch Central Canterbury. This is a full-time position offering an exciting opportunity to provide high-quality dental care to our diverse patient base. As a Dentist, you will play a crucial role in our practice, delivering comprehensive dental treatments and contributing to the overall success and reputation of our clinic. This position offers the chance to work in a modern, well-equipped facility alongside a supportive team of dental professionals. What you'll be doing Conducting comprehensive dental examinations and diagnoses using clinical assessment and modern diagnostic tools Performing a wide range of restorative and preventative dental treatments, including fillings, extractions, root canal therapy, and scaling and polishing Developing and implementing individualised treatment plans based on patient needs and clinical findings Providing patient education on oral hygiene, preventative care and treatment options Maintaining accurate and detailed patient records in accordance with dental and regulatory standards Adhering to infection control protocols and maintaining a safe, hygienic clinical environment Collaborating with dental hygienists, dental therapists and other team members to ensure coordinated patient care Managing patient concerns and complaints professionally and compassionately Staying current with advances in dental practice and participating in continuing professional development What we're looking for A recognised dental qualification (Bachelor of Dental Surgery or equivalent) from an accredited institution Current registration with the Dental Council of New Zealand or eligibility to register Valid New Zealand or international dental licence with appropriate endorsements Proven clinical experience in general dental practice, ideally 2+ years post-graduation Strong clinical knowledge and practical skills in restorative, preventative and emergency dentistry Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with patients from diverse backgrounds Professional approach to patient confidentiality and data protection Commitment to continuing education and staying abreast of best practice in dentistry Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team Experience with dental practice management software is advantageous What we offer At Palms Dental Centre, we are committed to creating a supportive and rewarding work environment for our staff.
