Jora New Zealand will close on 9th September 2026. Thank you for being with us, we are cheering you on as you continue your career journey. Heights Recruitment – Christchurch, South Island We are on the lookout for an experienced sparky to step into an exciting Service Estimator role, where you will learn the ropes of quoting, project coordination, and job management. This is an awesome opportunity for a registered electrician to step off the tools and apply your electrical experience to learn a brand-new skill set. No estimating experience? No stress. If you've got the electrical knowledge and the right attitude, the training can be taught. What's in it for you? Genuine career progression off the tools Mix of office, site visits and customer interaction Stable, supportive, knowledgeable team to train you up Long-term opportunity with a well-established Christchurch electrical company Up to $95,000 salary ($45 per hour wages) Role: This isn't a role where you'll be chained to a desk all day. You'll split your time between the office, customer sites and supporting the service team, with every day bringing something different. You'll be meeting with customers to scope upcoming work, assessing their requirements and putting together accurate quotations for everything from day-to-day service jobs through to larger electrical projects. You'll also keep an eye on project costs, help manage smaller projects and build strong relationships with customers by providing practical advice and great service throughout the process. You will be working alongside the Service Manager and Service Team Leader, as well as an experienced Estimator, all of whom have been at the company for at least five years. This crew has a wealth of knowledge to share with their next team member, and the rest of the office are all legends who we've come to know well, after years of assisting with their recruitment across the business. While this role is designed to get you off the tools and into estimating and project coordination, you'll still jump in and lend a hand on the tools when needed to support the service team. As your experience grows, so will your responsibilities, with the opportunity to take ownership of larger quotations, bigger projects and more of the day-to-day management of service work. What we're looking for: Current NZ Electrical Registration and Practising Licence Strong electrical background across commercial, industrial or servicing work Good communicator who can build rapport with customers Organised, computer savvy, and able to juggle multiple jobs Keen to develop a long-term career beyond being on the tools This role would suit a sparky who's looking ahead and thinking about what the next 5-10 years might look like. Applicants may be required to undertake pre-employment alcohol and drug testing, and should have NZ residency or full NZ working rights with no restrictions - sponsorship is not available. #J-18808-Ljbffr
