This is a hands-on, site-based role in Dunedin where no two days are the same. You’ll be working across a range of environments, supporting installation, maintenance, and fault-finding on complex electrical and mechanical systems. Key responsibilities: Installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial plant and industrial electrical systems Supporting Automation Engineers Providing routine maintenance and planning on plant sites Working alongside mechanical plant and HVAC systems Fault-finding and troubleshooting to minimise downtime Supporting works across civil and infrastructure environments where required Ensuring all work meets NZ safety and compliance standards Collaborating with other trades and teams on-site Upskilling, ongoing training and support through the role We’re looking for someone with strong, practical experience in industrial and/or commercial electrical environments, along with: Current NZ EWRB practising licence Proven experience in industrial, mechanical, and commercial electrical work Experience with plant equipment, industrial, HVAC, or automated systems (advantageous) Capability to learn and work with traffic signals and transport technologies and work in with the team Ability to work independently and manage your time effectively An on-call roster operates; you will be expected to be part of the on-call roster. Full Class 1 driver’s licence Strong fault-finding and problem-solving ability Willingness for occasional travel Solid attention to detail and commitment to safety Solid computer skills and exposure to a wide variety of computer applications Reference: 733399 Downer is committed to a safe working environment for everyone.
