Teach senior PE through to NCEA Level 3 in a well-supported environment Smaller classes, collaborative leadership, and genuine work-life balance Fixed-term maternity leave cover from Term 4, 2026 - Term 1, 2027 A well-regarded, independent faith-based secondary school in Palmerston North is seeking an experienced Secondary Physical Education Teacher to join their team for a fixed-term maternity leave position, commencing Term 4, 2026 through to the end of Term 1, 2027. About the Role You’ll teach Years 9-13 Physical Education, including NCEA through to Level 3, across both practical and theory-based learning. The practical components are delivered face-to-face, while much of the theory teaching is delivered online to students. Experience teaching online or using platforms such as Zoom would be an advantage, although confident teachers who are open to blended delivery are also encouraged to apply. This role would suit a PE teacher who can balance active, practical teaching with structured academic delivery and enjoys using digital tools to engage students. With smaller classes, clear systems, and supportive leadership, you’ll have the opportunity to focus on quality teaching and positive student outcomes.
