Senior Accountant | Public Practice Accounting Macdonald Perniskie - Queenstown, South Island We're currently looking for Senior Accountants to join our teams in Gore, Queenstown and Wānaka. The opportunity This is more than a compliance role. You'll work closely with clients, solve complex problems and help develop the next generation of accounting professionals. You'll have the autonomy to take ownership of your work while being supported by experienced Partners whenever you need it. Salary will reflect your skills, experience and the scope of the role. Senior Accountants who manage a client portfolio will be remunerated accordingly. Depending on your experience and interests, you'll: Prepare and review financial statements and taxation returns. Deliver practical accounting and business advice to clients. Build strong, trusted client relationships. Manage your own client portfolio (if this aligns with your career goals). Review work completed by junior team members and provide guidance where needed. Work collaboratively with Partners and colleagues to deliver outstanding client service. Identify opportunities to improve client outcomes and internal processes. You’ll bring: Experience working in a New Zealand public practice environment. Strong technical accounting and taxation knowledge. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. A proactive approach and willingness to take ownership. A collaborative approach and an interest in helping others succeed. A commitment to delivering excellent service to clients. A recognised accounting qualification is advantageous but not essential.
