Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora - Southern – Dunedin, South Island Dunedin Hospital | Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora Permanent Full-Time opportunity (40hrs per week) Are you an experienced Pharmacy Technician looking to take the next step in your career? We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy Service at Dunedin Hospital. This exciting role combines traditional hospital pharmacy practice with a key function in automated medicines management systems, including serving as an Omnicell Superuser. Working within a progressive and supportive team, you will play an important role in ensuring patients receive safe, timely, and effective access to medicines while helping support the digital medicines management across our new hospital outpatient services. About the role This diverse position offers the opportunity to: Support our dispensary operations by accurately preparing, dispensing, distributing, and supplying medicines across inpatient and outpatient services. Assist with medicines management across the hospital including inventory management and medicines supply processes. Participate in technician-led and extended scope activities as services evolve. Act as a pharmacy Omnicell Superuser/administrator, supporting automated dispensing cabinet technology across clinical areas. About you We are looking for someone who: Holds a New Zealand Certificate in Pharmacy (Technician) Level 4 or Level 5 qualification. Have previous hospital pharmacy experience and have excellent organisation, communication, and time management skills. Enjoys problem solving and working with digital systems. Builds positive working relationships and thrives in a collaborative healthcare environment. Has a commitment to patient safety, continuous improvement, and high-quality service delivery. Previous experience with automated dispensing cabinets such as Omnicell or Pyxis will be highly regarded. Salary range This role belongs to the APEX Pharmacy Collective Agreement and falls between Step 3 ($72,074) and Step 7 ($86,719) p.a pro rata of the Pharmacy Technician scale.
