This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to step into a visible role with genuine breadth. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you'll combine strong technical accounting with commercial insight, supporting senior stakeholders while taking ownership across financial reporting, tax, controls and process improvement. Responsibilities Lead month end activities and ensure an accurate and timely close Prepare high-quality monthly management accounts and finance reporting Support annual and half-year financial statements in accordance with NZ IFRS Coordinate with external auditors and support the annual audit process Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations Prepare technical accounting papers and provide guidance on changes to accounting standards Partner with senior managers and budget holders, providing meaningful financial insights Identify financial risks, opportunities and significant budget variances Support budgeting and quarterly forecasting Prepare tax and deferred tax calculations and support annual tax compliance Contribute to Board and Audit & Risk Committee reporting Use Excel, Power BI and automation tools to improve reporting and analysis Identify opportunities to strengthen financial controls and improve finance processes Requirements CA qualified Strong post-qualification commercial or professional services experience Excellent knowledge of NZ IFRS and statutory financial reporting Sound understanding of the New Zealand tax environment, including income and deferred tax Advanced Excel capability Working knowledge of Power BI Strong analytical skills and an interest in automation and AI-enabled finance tools High attention to detail and a strong controls mindset Confident communication skills with the ability to engage senior stakeholders Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central experience would be advantageous Available to start immediately or at short notice Perks and benefits Immediate start High-quality corporate environment Broad and visible senior finance position Exposure to senior executives and key decision makers Mix of technical accounting and commercial business partnering Opportunity to improve reporting, analytics and finance processes Wellington-based opportunity If you're a commercially astute finance professional looking to make a genuine impact, we'd love to hear from you.
