Straitline Canvas Ltd is seeking an experienced Canvas Goods Fabricator to join our production team in Palmerston North. This role involves manufacturing, repairing, and modifying heavy-duty PVC and canvas products for the transport, agricultural, and commercial industries. The successful applicant will have experience operating industrial sewing machines and working with heavy-duty materials, with the ability to produce neat, accurate, and high-quality workmanship. Key responsibilities Operate industrial sewing machines safely and efficiently. Manufacture products using 600gsm and 700gsm PVC fabrics and other heavy-duty materials. Sew and install zips, reinforcement patches, webbing, and other components. Measure, cut, fabricate, and assemble shaped panels and custom-designed products. Repair and modify existing PVC and canvas products as required. Read and follow measurements, specifications, and drawings. Ensure all sewing and fabrication work is neat, accurate, and completed to a high standard. Inspect finished products to ensure quality standards are met. Maintain industrial sewing equipment and report any faults or maintenance requirements. Work effectively as part of the production team to meet production deadlines and customer requirements. About you A minimum of 3 years' relevant experience operating industrial sewing machines. Experience working with heavy-duty PVC, canvas, tarpaulin, or similar industrial fabrics. Demonstrated ability to sew and install zips, webbing, reinforcement patches, and other components. Experience manufacturing shaped panels and custom-fabricated products. Ability to read and follow measurements, specifications, and basic drawings. High attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality workmanship. Physically capable of safely handling heavy fabrics and completed products. Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Ability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently.Experience manufacturing transport curtains, truck covers, tarpaulins, load covers, or other heavy-duty PVC products will be highly regarded. #J-18808-Ljbffr
