About the Role We have a permanent, full-time opportunity available to join ourNorthern regional serviceas aCompliance Officerin ourCompliance and Health Protection, Auckland team. As a Compliance Officer, you will contribute towards compliance and enforcement activities relating to theSmokefree Environments and Regulated Products Act (SERPA) 1990and theSale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012. Activities will be carried out in a way that contributes toPae Ora (Healthy Futures)and theSmokefree Aotearoa 2025 Action Plan. Working with various key stakeholders, you will carry out targeted monitoring and compliance activities. You will alsobe responsible formonitoring andmaintainingnationally consistent and effective systems and processes for regional delivery and reporting of compliance activities. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity based in the Auckland region. About the Team/Service/ Location The National Public Health Service (NPHS) withinHealth New Zealand -TeWhatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing onoranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention. Weare connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored. About you As a Compliance Officer, youareable todemonstrateself-awareness of your impact on people and invest in your own leadership practice to continuously grow and improve.You bring withyou;previousexperience that will help you lead confidently in this role. You are someone with strong problem solving and analytical skills combined with an ability to quickly assimilatenew information. Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in a regulator/compliance capacity (e.g. Law, Health, Public Administration, Compliance). Experience in regulatory approaches and/or Smokefree and Regulated Products and Sale and Supply of Alcohol legislation. Clean NZ Drivers Licence Experience in implementingTeTiriti o Waitangi in action. Experience in an advisory role, applying critical thinking and using sound judgement to develop options and provide advice. Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with other Agencies and Public Health teams.
