Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Excavator Operator to join our team. This role would suit someone with a strong civil or excavation background who takes pride in accurate, tidy, and efficient work. This role would suit someone with a strong civil or excavation background who takes pride in accurate, tidy, and efficient work. About the Role You will be working across residential building sites throughout Christchurch, carrying out foundation excavation and site preparation work. Your day-to-day work will include: Residential foundation dig-outs Site cuts and level preparation Trenching and backfilling Loading trucks and shifting material Working from site plans, levels, and set-outs Working safely around builders, contractors, and other trades Completing daily machine checks and basic maintenance Keeping machinery and sites tidy and well presented About You We are looking for someone who is reliable, experienced, and confident operating machinery on residential construction sites. To be successful, you will need: Previous civil construction or excavation experience Proven digger/excavator operating experience Confidence working to levels and site requirements Good awareness of underground services, access, and site safety Ability to work independently and communicate well with builders and site teams A strong work ethic and pride in your workmanship Full driver’s licence Nice to Have The following would be an advantage, but are not essential: Bobcat experience Residential foundation excavation experience WTR endorsement Class 2 licence Ability to tow machinery What We Offer Full-time role with a growing Christchurch business Consistent residential foundation excavation work Competitive pay based on experience Great team environment Opportunity to grow with the business Discussions with the right candidate around vehicle, fuel card, and other benefits The Right Fit We are looking for someone who turns up on time, looks after the gear, works safely, and understands the importance of accurate foundation excavation.
