Normans Road Surgery – Christchurch, South Island We're a friendly, patient-focused general practice looking for a warm, caring Healthcare Assistant to join our team for 30-35 hours per week. If you love helping people, feel comfortable and cared for, we'd love to meet you. About the Role As a Primary Care Healthcare Assistant, you'll be a familiar, friendly face for our patients. You will assist clinicians with clinical tasks, support patients throughout their visit, and help keep the practice running smoothly. This is a vital role for ensuring that patients receive safe, efficient, and compassionate care. Day to day, you'll: Carry out health checks (blood pressure, height, weight, BMI, etc.) Take blood samples (phlebotomy) and process specimens Support chronic disease management clinics (e.g. diabetes, asthma) Perform ECGs, spirometry, and other routine tests Give flu jabs and support vaccination clinics Help with wound care and dressings Keep accurate patient records and maintain a clean, well-stocked clinical environment Be a reassuring, approachable presence for patients of all ages What We're Looking For A genuine, caring manner — you put people at ease Good communication skills and a team-first attitude Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant or in a similar clinical support role (training can be provided for the right candidate) NVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) is a plus, but not essential Willingness to learn and grow with us #J-18808-Ljbffr
