Great Potentials Foundation – Manawatu County Great Potentials Foundationis a charitable trust for the promotion of education and parental support and we have been in existence for over 35 years. We are in communities supporting them to unleash the potential of their children and young people at key transition points in their lives.We do this through life-changing programmes we develop, establish and manage, including HIPPY (Home Interaction Programme for Parents and Youngsters). Two generations benefit through the HIPPY Programme’s contribution to both early childhood education and parenting support resulting in: Improving skills, confidence, and educational outcomes of children Increasing parents’ participation in their children’s education and wider communities We are looking for a full-time (40hrs pw) HIPPY Programme Coordinator in Palmerston North to deliver a Ministry of Education funded contract. As the HIPPY Coordinator reporting to the Regional Manager, you will assist to deliver a quality programme in your community, with primary responsibility for all aspects of local programme implementation. The role is a work from home position but requires a daily physical presence across Palmerston North as recruitment and programme delivery is predominantly face-to-face. Key Responsibilities Deliver the HIPPY Programme in accordance with the Whānau In-Home Learning Agreement and the HIPPY Delivery Manual Engage and enrol families in the HIPPY Programme and facilitate transition to ECE or school Recruit, train and support tutors Skills and experience You will have a relevant tertiary qualification (eg. Teaching, Social Work or related field) and experience working with families with young children or with adult learners or coaching; Strong connections and understanding of the Palmerston Northcommunity are important for this role You will need to be comfortable visiting homes of whānau and ideally have experience working within diverse communities with additional learning needs As this is a work-from home position with regular travel, you will need a suitable space to work from home, together with a current full driver's licence and regular access to a vehicle A satisfactory Children’s Act check is also required.
