A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY FOR AN EXPERIENCED AQUATICS COUPLE TO LIVE AND WORK ON THE SUNSHINE COAST We are looking for a calm, professional and experienced aquatics couple to relocate from New Zealand to the beautiful Sunshine Coast in Queensland and take responsibility for teaching and operating an established and highly successful boutique swim school. This is a unique live-in position suited to a couple who genuinely enjoy working with children, value quality over quantity and take pride in delivering exceptional swimming lessons. This is not a large commercial swim-school environment. The program operates from a residential property in Buderim, offering a quiet, personal and welcoming environment where children receive highly individualised swimming instruction. THE SWIM SCHOOL The swim school has built a strong reputation by offering something very different from traditional swimming centres. Only three students are in the pool at any one time. This allows the instructors to provide: Personalised attention High-quality technical instruction Individual student progression A calm learning environment Strong relationships with children and families Consistent teaching standards A boutique experience for every student The program caters for children across a broad range of abilities, from babies and beginners through to stroke development and technique . The successful applicants will personally teach the program and become the familiar, trusted faces of the swim school. WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR We are looking for professional aquatics people with a minimum of five years' experience who have a genuine passion for teaching children. The ideal applicants will have experience teaching: Babies and toddlers Preschool children Beginner swimmers Learn-to-swim students Children developing confidence and water safety skills Stroke development Stroke correction and technique More advanced swimmers MOST IMPORTANTLY, YOU WILL BE: Calm and patient Warm and approachable Professional in your presentation and communication Excellent with children Excellent with parents and families Reliable and responsible Confident working independently Passionate about teaching Technically strong Able to adapt your teaching to individual children Comfortable working in a small, residential environment Someone who takes pride in providing an exceptional customer experience We are looking for people who understand that teaching three children exceptionally well is very different from teaching a large group. The successful applicants must enjoy creating a calm, positive and personalised experience for every child. THE ROLE The swim school currently operates: 6 mornings per week and 5 afternoons per week. The successful couple will be responsible for personally delivering the swimming program and ensuring the day-to-day operation of the swim school continues to the high standard our families expect. This includes: Teaching swimming lessons Preparing for daily lessons Communicating professionally with parents Monitoring student progression Maintaining strong relationships with families Managing daily bookings and enquiries Maintaining the professional presentation of the swim school Following established systems and procedures Ensuring the pool and teaching environment are maintained to a high standard Pool maintenance and operational requirements Managing day-to-day business costs and requirements Working closely with the owners during the transition and throughout the contract You will not be required to lead a large teaching team. The focus of this position is on personally teaching the students and calmly managing the successful boutique operation. LIVE-IN ACCOMMODATION The successful applicants will live in a 4-bedroom home provided as part of the position. The home is located on the Sunshine Coast and provides the successful couple with the opportunity to combine work with the lifestyle benefits of living in one of Queensland's most desirable coastal regions. This is an ideal opportunity for a couple looking for an Australian lifestyle experience while continuing to work professionally within the aquatics industry. REMUNERATION & PACKAGE Management wage: $2,000 per week with additional performance-based incentives available. The agreed package also incorporates the living and operational costs associated with the position, including accommodation and agreed property/business expenses. Further details regarding remuneration, accommodation, working arrangements and responsibilities will be discussed with shortlisted applicants and included in the employment agreement. TRAINING & TRANSITION A comprehensive training and handover period will be provided before the successful applicants take over the program. Training & handover 19-25 October 2026 This will allow the successful applicants to: Meet the owners Learn the swim-school systems Meet the students and families Become familiar with the teaching program Understand the daily operation Become familiar with pool maintenance and operational requirements Transition into the role confidently Position commences Monday, 26 October 2026 Initial contract 26 October 2026 – December 2027 Further opportunities may be available beyond the initial contract for the right applicants.
