James Cook High School – Manurewa, North Island Te Haikura A Kiwa is a large co-educational, culturally diverse secondary school located in Manurewa, South Auckland. Our current roll is approximately 1900 students, and our students continue to achieve sustained improvements across a wide range of metrics, including improving learning, engagement, and achievement An exciting opportunity awaits an experienced Careers Pathway Coordinator to join our forward-thinking team. This is your chance to help shape and expand an innovative and growing area within our kura, supporting our students to thrive as our roll continues to grow. You’ll have opportunities for professional growth and to make a real impact. Experience leading Gateway and STAR programmes would be an asset. This is a fixed term, part-time 35 hours a week role- term time only to cover for a staff on Maternity leave from the 7th September 2026 till 2nd July 2027. Some school holiday work may be required and will be negotiated as needed. The successful applicant will have experience working in today’s fast-changing job environment and bring a wide perspective from experience gained by working in different organisations. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, flexible and confident. You will be working closely with students, parents, teachers, employers, and Universities and Polytechnics. You will also need to be competent with application processes for post-secondary school options/pathways. Experience in a school setting is desirable, but not compulsory. Clean driving license is preferred as some travel is required. This position has a large administrative component, so computer and administrative competency is essential for these roles. The Careers Faculty offers the successful candidates the opportunity to grow professionally and embraces “new thinking and ideas”.
