We're looking for a Casual Visitor Information Consultant to join our friendly team at the Kaitāia i-site. This is an on-call position ideal for someone who enjoys variety, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has a genuine passion for showcasing everything our region has to offer. As one of the first people visitors meet when they arrive in the Far North, you'll help connect them with local attractions, activities, transport options, accommodation and essential information. You'll also support residents with general Council enquiries and transactions, making every day different and rewarding. Working as part of a supportive team, you'll deliver outstanding customer service while promoting the diverse attractions, events, landscapes and visitor experiences found across Te Hiku o Te Ika, Northland. I ā koe - About You You're a people person who enjoys building connections and making customers feel welcome. You love finding solutions, take pride in delivering excellent service, and are excited to share your knowledge of our region. You'll bring: Outstanding customer service skills and a positive, welcoming attitude. A passion for the Far North and enthusiasm for promoting local experiences and attractions. Strong communication skills and confidence working with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds. Sound computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications. The ability to learn quickly, work collaboratively and adapt to changing priorities. Great organisational skills and attention to detail. Experience in customer service, tourism, retail or hospitality environments. Confidence handling transactions and working responsibly with cash. Flexibility to work weekends, public holidays and as required. The salary for this position is Grade 9 within Council's salary structure (Band: $60,823 to $63,357 pro rata per annum) dependent on qualifications and experience, plus Kiwi Saver.
