The Kind Foundation – Christchurch, South Island Hotel Give is on the lookout for a friendly, motivated individual to join our reception team on a fixed term basis. About Us Hotel Give – a socially sustainable stay, located in the central city, overlooking the Botanic Gardens. Hotel Give boasts a range of accommodation options including self-contained apartments, deluxe private rooms and shared bathroom amenities dorms and rooms. Guests enjoy 24-hour reception. Hotel Give is owned and operated by The Kind Foundation, a charitable trust which provides a broad range of programmes for children, young people and vulnerable groups in our community. The profits we make in our hotel are all invested into the work of The Kind Foundation. We mean it when we say we are socially sustainable: every dollar is paid forward. Reception Team The reception staff are our front-of-house ambassadors, and they demonstrate our core values, our point of difference, our mission, vision and purpose, and our commitment to excellent customer service. They work closely with the Food & Beverage team at Number Six Bar and Bistro, ensuring a seamless guest experience. From room bookings to dining recommendations, we work together to create a welcoming and cohesive environment for everyone who walks through our doors. We are looking for people who: enjoy meeting new people and will provide a warm, professional service have a positive, can-do attitude are confident decision-makers who can stay calm and solution focused under pressure have a good understanding of booking software (preferably Opera Cloud, but not essential) are excellent communicators - both written and spoken can learn quickly, and work independently and collaboratively Key Responsibilities: welcome and check guests in and out with care and efficiency manage bookings via phone, online, and in person responding to email bookings and enquiries cash handling, being able to confidently balance transactions always providing outstanding customer service work collaboratively with other departments to ensure a full guest experience the ability to work weekends, Saturday/Sunday and public holidays, with flexibility to fill other shifts when required. be familiar with and provide information on programmes and services operated by The Kind Foundation and be able to direct enquiries to the correct people Our reception team work rostered shifts between 7am to 10pm – please note that the shifts we are looking to fill include weekend and evening shifts.
