Maintenance Operations Manager – Lower North Island Lead Engineering & Maintenance Across Two Growing Businesses Higgins Concrete and Hirock Aggregate are seeking an experienced Maintenance Operations Manager to lead an integrated engineering and maintenance function across our Lower North Island operations. This is a newly created leadership role with responsibility for maintenance operations spanning quarrying, crushing, and concrete plant assets across multiple sites. Reporting to the Head of Higgins Fleet Maintenance and Engineering, you will play a key role in improving asset reliability, driving preventative maintenance programmes, and leading a high-performing engineering team. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of maintenance operations within two well-established New Zealand businesses. About the Role As the Maintenance Operations Manager, you will: Lead and develop an integrated team of engineers and apprentices across multiple sites. Establish and improve preventative maintenance programmes across quarry, crushing, and concrete plant operations. Drive asset reliability and reduce reactive maintenance. Manage maintenance budgets, capital planning, and asset lifecycle programmes. Build strong working relationships with operational leaders across both business units. Champion health, safety, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives. What We're Looking For To be successful in this role, you will have: Proven experience leading maintenance teams across multiple sites. Strong knowledge of fixed and mobile plant maintenance. Experience developing and implementing preventative maintenance programmes. Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and team development skills. Budget management and capital planning experience. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. A commitment to health, safety, and operational excellence. A full New Zealand Driver Licence. Experience within the quarrying, crushing, manufacturing, construction materials, or concrete industries will be highly regarded. Why Join Us?
