This is a varied role where inventory management, purchasing, supplier relationships and keeping our stock systems running smoothly are at the heart of the position, alongside supporting our customers and retail team. About the job Working across inventory and retail, you'll play an important role in keeping the business running smoothly behind the scenes, while also helping deliver the high level of customer service Cycleways is known for. The role is Monday - Friday and is busy and varied. You'll need to be highly organised, proactive and comfortable working with detail, systems and stock. At the same time, you'll enjoy interacting with customers and be happy to step onto the shop floor when required. You'll work in a small, high-performing and collaborative team, with your key responsibilities including: Monitoring inventory levels and identifying upcoming stock requirements Tracking vendor orders, backorders, pricing, stock fluctuations and availability Liaising with suppliers and wholesalers to understand stock availability, lead times and pricing Placing orders, proactively following up and keeping the team and customers informed Receipting, checking and labelling incoming goods Ensuring inventory records are accurate and up to date Investigating and resolving stock discrepancies and incorrect deliveries Assisting with inventory analysis and identifying opportunities to improve stock management Managing product, pricing and stock information across our systems Helping ensure we have the right products, in the right quantities, at the right time Identifying opportunities to improve purchasing, inventory and sales processes Taking ownership of inventory-related issues and following them through to resolution Working proactively with suppliers and the wider team to prevent stock issues before they arise Alongside the inventory responsibilities, you'll also support the retail team and our customers by: Providing an excellent customer experience Advising customers on products that meet their needs Responding to customer enquiries in-store, by phone and online Building strong relationships with customers, team members, suppliers and wholesalers Assisting with online orders and website enquiries Resolving customer service issues and following through to ensure they are properly addressed Supporting the team on the retail floor during busy periods Keeping the retail space organised, tidy and well presented About you You'll be someone who enjoys being organised, solving problems and keeping things moving. You'll take pride in getting the detail right and enjoy working with stock, systems and suppliers, while also being confident and personable when dealing with customers. Have strong organisational and administration skills, with excellent attention to detail Enjoy working with inventory, purchasing, data and systems Are proactive and comfortable taking ownership of tasks and following things through Have excellent communication and relationship-building skills Can confidently liaise with suppliers, wholesalers, customers and team members Are comfortable working with numbers, stock information and pricing Have a practical, problem-solving mindset and a positive "can do" attitude Are able to balance day-to-day tasks with planning ahead and identifying what needs to happen next Are committed to continuously improving processes and systems Have a strong commitment to delivering an exceptional customer experience Are able to work Monday - Friday Ideally have previous experience in inventory, purchasing, retail, administration or a similar operational role Experience in the cycling industry is helpful, but it's not essential.
