Department of Corrections NZ – Wellington Central, North Island Empower others to own and lead a positive environmental culture Drive the delivery of the Corrections Climate Action Plan programme Collaborate with other Justice Sector agencies to develop a sector wide approach to sustainability Mō te tūnga | About the role Ara Poutama Aotearoa has an exciting opportunity as Principal Adviser Sustainability where you will play a critical role and drive the delivery of the Corrections Sustainability programme of work, ensuring adequate processes are in place for escalating risks and issues, monitoring progress, measuring benefits, and securing resources. As the Principal Adviser Sustainability, you will leverage your extensive expertise in environmental sustainability to provide invaluable insights that drive strategic planning and alignment throughout the department. Through insightful analysis and proactive engagement, you will champion our commitment to a sustainable future, facilitating meaningful change within the organisation. This role not only offers a chance to make a real difference in sustainability within the correctional system but also provides an exciting platform for personal and professional growth. To be successful in this role you will bring: Practical experience in engaging in a successful agency Environmental Audit. Proven ability in developing Annual Report content covering Environmental Sustainability requirements. The ability to develop and monitor programme and project plans, including governance, stakeholder management and communications, benefits realisation plans, risk and opportunities, reporting and assurance, timelines, budget and resource plans, and escalation pathways. Understanding of Machinery of Government and public sector processes, particularly external budget submissions The midpoint of the salary range is $182,127 per annum and the full range (85%-120%) is $154,808 - $218,553 per annum. Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
