If you've gained 1–3 years' experience in New Zealand public practice and are looking to continue developing your technical skills while building strong client relationships, we'd love to hear from you. We are open to full-time or part time, based in one of our Southland or Otago offices. You'll work with a diverse range of clients, preparing financial statements, taxation returns and compliance work while building your technical expertise and developing trusted client relationships. Working alongside experienced Partners and Senior Accountants, you'll be given increasing responsibility and autonomy as your skills develop. You'll also have the opportunity to support junior team members, contribute to improving the way we work and continue progressing your career. Salary will reflect your skills, experience and the scope of the role. Depending on your experience, you'll: Prepare financial statements and taxation returns. Prepare GST, FBT and other taxation returns. Work directly with clients to obtain information, answer queries and provide practical accounting support. Build strong, trusted client relationships. Liaise with Inland Revenue, banks and other external stakeholders when required. Prepare and maintain accurate workpapers and documentation. Support and guide junior team members where appropriate. Work collaboratively with Partners and Senior Accountants to deliver outstanding client service. Identify opportunities to improve client outcomes and internal processes. You'll bring 1–3 years' experience working in a New Zealand public practice environment. A solid understanding of New Zealand accounting principles and taxation. Experience preparing financial statements and taxation returns. Strong communication and relationship-building skills. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines. A proactive approach with the confidence to work independently while knowing when to seek guidance. Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to delivering excellent service to clients. A recognised accounting qualification is advantageous but not essential.
