Fletcher Construction is seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join our team delivering the Eastern Zone (city side) of Te Wai Takamori o Te Awa Kairangi (Te Awa Kairangi). About the Role In this role, you'll work across complex civil construction activities including wet and dry utilities, roadworks and retaining structures within the Eastern Zone of the project. You'll spend time both on site and in the planning space, helping ensure work is delivered safely, efficiently, to programme and to a high standard of quality. Plan and coordinate the delivery of wet and dry utilities, civil roadworks and retaining wall construction across the Eastern Zone Lead quality assurance and quality control activities, ensuring work is delivered in accordance with specifications, ITPs and project requirements Monitor progress, resources and daily costs to support programme and budget targets Work closely with supervisors, forepersons, H&S teams, subcontractors and wider project stakeholders Implement inspection and test plans (ITPs), construction work packs and project action plans on site Champion safe work practices through strong site presence, quality leadership and proactive risk management (raising, implementing and managing safety permits) What You'll Bring to the Role A qualification in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline Around 2+ years' experience in civil construction, ideally within New Zealand Experience implementing quality processes, interpreting ITPs and identifying quality risks on site Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and project documentation Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships across teams A collaborative approach, willingness to pitch in where needed and alignment with our values Te Awa Kairangi Alliance is delivering transport, walking and cycling improvements to the SH2 Melling interchange and rail station, as part of a wider flood protection and city revitalisation programme. Fletcher Construction is working with Alliance partners AECOM, NZTA, Taranaki Whānui and Ngāti Toa Rangatira to deliver this transformative project.
