Showroom Sales Consultant – Outdoor Living & DIY Location: Onehunga, Auckland Employment Type: Full-Time (Monday - Saturday) Join the Steelmates Team! As we open our brand-new showroom in Onehunga, we're looking for a friendly, enthusiastic and customer-focused Showroom Sales Consultant to become the face of our showroom. Our product range includes: Greenhouses Garden Sheds Patio Covers & Pergolas Raised Garden Beds & Planter Boxes Outdoor Kitchens Garage & Workshop Storage DIY Outdoor Living Products If you're passionate about helping customers and enjoy DIY, gardening or outdoor living, we'd love to hear from you. About the Role This is a varied customer-facing role where you'll be the first point of contact for customers visiting our showroom. You'll provide product advice, prepare quotations and sales orders, coordinate deliveries, and deliver excellent customer service both in person and via phone and email. Key Responsibilities Welcome and assist customers visiting the showroom. Understand customers' needs and recommend suitable products. Explain product features, installation options and product benefits. Prepare quotations, sales orders and invoices. Process customer purchases and payments. Respond to customer enquiries via phone and email. Follow up on quotations and sales enquiries. Provide sales support and general sales administration. Coordinate customer collections and delivery bookings. Maintain an attractive, clean and well-presented showroom. Assist with assembling and displaying showroom products when required. Work closely with our warehouse and customer service teams to deliver an outstanding customer experience. About You We're looking for someone who enjoys working with people and has a genuine interest in DIY, gardening and outdoor living. You will ideally have: Previous experience in retail sales, showroom sales or customer service. A passion for DIY, gardening, landscaping or home improvement. Knowledge of outdoor living products such as garden sheds, greenhouses, pergolas, fencing or landscaping products would be highly regarded. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Good computer skills and confidence learning new systems. Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills. A positive attitude, initiative and willingness to learn. The ability to work independently and as part of a team. Experience in any of the following industries would be an advantage: Garden centres or nurseries Hardware retailers (Mitre 10, Bunnings, etc.) Building supplies Landscaping Outdoor furniture Home improvement Construction or trade-related products What We Offer A brand-new showroom and friendly working environment.
