Stop Smoking Practitioner (Quit Coach)

The Stop Smoking Practitioner (Quit Coach) delivers evidence-based support to help people quit smoking. The role provides behavioural support, access to cessation medications, and follow-up to maintain motivation and prevent relapse. Flexibility, including after-hours and weekend mahi, may be required to ensure services are accessible and responsive to whānau needs. Kia ekena a angitū | To promote success in this role, you will have Health and Wellbeing (Level 3) - Stop Smoking Practitioner qualification (or willing to work towards) Knowledge of smoking cessation approaches (preferred) Experience in health and/or social services (preferred). The ability to build strong relationships and Empathy and cultural competence, with understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Māori models of health. The ability to prioritise, problem solve and maintain accurate records. Competence in Microsoft Office and general IT systems. The ability to be flexible, trustworthy, and able to work afterhours/weekends when required. A full, clean NZ Driver Licence.
