HD Machine Operator (x2)

Rata Recruitment – Central Otago District, South Island Overview Our client is a family-owned New Zealand company, with 20 years of experience in civil and mining operations throughout New Zealand. This project will employ up to 30 personnel in roles ranging from earth moving and dredge operations to administration, health, safety, and compliance. Based in Central Otago, the project is expected to last seven years. Key Responsibilities Operate excavators (20T up to 120T) to perform various earth-moving tasks such as digging, benching, loading dump trucks and our floating dredge. Operate trucks, bulldozers, water truck and other machinery we have on site. Ensure precise operation, maintaining control and accuracy in all tasks. Conduct pre-start daily inspections and routine maintenance to ensure it is in good working condition. Follow safety protocols and industry best practices to maintain a safe working environment. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate tasks and operations. Maintain a clean and tidy work environment, including the machine's and surrounding work area. Participate in training programs, including first aid and health and safety, to enhance skills and knowledge. Qualifications / Experience Proven experience as a machine operator in an earth-moving or civil environment Precision and control in operating excavators and other machines. Good understanding of safety practices and procedures. Ability to perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting of equipment. Key Skills / Attributes High level of trustworthiness and integrity. Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude. Punctual, reliable, and committed to maintaining high safety and work standards. Mining experience not essential but an advantage. Licenses are an advantage WTR, Class 1-5. Additional Information Remuneration = Good hourly rate on offer Hours = 50 hours per week (Mon - Fri), over-time offered (if candidate would like) Location = Central Otago.
