The role: Reporting to the Team Lead – Philanthropy and Partnerships, you’ll be one of three Philanthropy Managers responsible for growing the Foundation’s major and principal donor programme. This is a newly created role, offering the opportunity to shape and develop a new portfolio of donors and trusts. As the primary solicitor for your portfolio, you’ll build genuine, long-term relationships and develop tailored funding opportunities that align donor motivations and interests with the Foundation’s priorities. You’ll develop compelling cases for support, tailored proposals and thoughtful stewardship strategies that inspire donors to engage with the Foundation for the long term. Working closely with senior leadership and the wider fundraising team, you’ll build and nurture a strong, diverse pipeline of major donors, while contributing to the team’s overall income and relationship goals. This is a genuinely relationship-led role, with the opportunity to develop a portfolio of donors giving $10K and above, identify new opportunities and grow meaningful, long-term philanthropic partnerships. You will need the following: 5+ years' relationship management experience, including major and principal donor fundraising Proven track record in making large asks and achieving financial targets Experience managing relationships with high-level donors or customers Strong written skills for proposals, reports, and cases for support Comfortable building new programmes from the ground up, with patience for a longer-term portfolio development timeline This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced major gifts fundraiser who wants to help shape programmes with genuine long-term impact. You'll join a supportive, established fundraising team working to fund initiatives for children across Aotearoa. Experience and confidence in making philanthropic asks for research and/or fellowships is highly advantageous. This is a permanent, full-time role based in Grafton, Auckland with a hybrid schedule.
