Gardner Homes Rotorua/South Waikato are looking for an experienced Estimator to join their team in Rotorua, playing a crucial part in building great homes in the region. An opportunity is available to join our team and work with us to achieve our vision of having 'every client recommend us to their closest friend'. As Estimator, you will be involved in the pre-construction and construction phase of residential building projects, providing cost estimations and ordering accuracy. This role is essential to our success, bridging the gap between design, sales, and construction teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. Knowledge of New Zealand residential construction is essential, with practical knowledge of how a new home is 'put together'. Key responsibilities Preparing detailed cost estimates based on architectural plans, specifications, and site information in a timely manner using G.J. Gardner's custom system Liaise with architects, engineers, subcontractors and project managers to ensure estimate accuracy Accurately prepare and place orders for all builds Identify potential risks and opportunities and provide strategic recommendations for improvement Maintain accurate records of estimates and historical cost data Prepare tender submissions Support the sales team with quick turnaround estimates for client proposals Assist with contract preparation Monitor project progress against initial estimates and reporting on variance analysis Prepare post contract variations to projects Maintain system pricing of templates, databases, and pre-designed home plans What we're looking for Experience as an Estimator and reliable working knowledge of New Zealand residential construction requirementsand build code (NZ3604) Proficiency in estimation software and Google Workspace Strong mathematical and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and current market pricing Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines Collaborative approach and willingness to work together with our wider team Valid New Zealand driver's licence and reliable transportation What we offer The opportunity to work for New Zealand's most trusted home builder Competitive remuneration based on experience and skills An engaging and inclusive team culture Work in a supportive and collaborative environment where your contributions are valued and recognised Ongoing training and support at an office and national level #J-18808-Ljbffr
