The Role A great coffee can set the tone for someone's entire day and at QT Wellington, we take that seriously. We're looking for a full-time Barista to join us on a permanent basis with a minimum guaranteed 40 hours per week. Whether you're pulling a perfect espresso, steaming milk to silky perfection or chatting with a regular who needs their flat white just so, you'll bring the same care and personality to every cup. Key Responsibilities Prepare and serve a full range of coffee and espresso-based beverages including flat whites, lattes, cappuccinos and specialty drinks, consistently to recipe and quality standard. Operate and maintain espresso machines and coffee equipment, including grinding beans to the correct coarseness for each order to ensure freshness and flavour. Steam and froth milk to the right consistency and temperature for each beverage, delivering quality and presentation that reflects the QT standard every time. Greet customers warmly, take orders with confidence, offer recommendations and upsell menu items in a way that feels natural and genuine. Monitor and replenish coffee beans, syrups and supplies, process payments accurately and maintain a clean, safe and well-organised workspace throughout every shift. Stay across the full menu including seasonal specials, and uphold all health, safety and hygiene protocols at all times. What You'll Bring A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Barista, or an NZQA certified Barista qualification. A genuine passion for coffee craft and the ability to consistently deliver high-quality beverages under pressure. A warm, engaging personality with strong communication skills and a natural ability to connect with guests. Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and handle the demands of a busy service environment.
