Manaaki Support Services is a progressive reintegration based serviceand a leading provider of residential and community reintegration support services for vulnerable New Zealanders across the central and north of the North Island. The Service In partnership with Department of Correction, Manaaki Support Service has opened a new transitional accommodation service in the Bay of Plenty, supporting tāne to reintegrate into the community and build crime free lives. This is a very exciting and innovative project, with the service able to offer up to 12 months secure accommodation and supports for 15 tāne, with options for community aftercare. The service aligns closely with the Correction Department’s Hōkai Rangi strategy. We offer participants support to find employment, re-connect with whānau, develop essential life skills, support with AOD and other significant health issues, and to find long term secure accommodation. The service has a strong cultural component, and supports connections with local whānau, marae, hapū and Iwi. Working with other community providers & services, seeking to build long term sustainable support networks. Supporting participants to be full and active members of their community. The role We are looking for passionateReintegration Team Coaches/Kaiwhakaako to work in this residential service. We are seeking a range of multi-skilled enthusiastic and energetic people who can be positive role models. To be successful in this role: Be passionate about making a real difference for tāne, whānau and their communities. Be empathetic and be able to build rapport with people from very diverse backgrounds. Have exceptionally high standards and awareness of boundaries and ethics. Have a level of computer literacy – Microsoft suite Have great communication skills. Be able to manage challenging situations. Have an understanding of challenges and barriers that tāne face in the justice system Have an understanding of Te Reo Māori me ōna Tikanga. Have NZ residency/valid NZ working visa. Be able to work in a roster covering shifts including weekends. As this role is working with tāne in the justice system, staff will undergo drivers licence checks, Drug and Alcohol testing procedures, and criminal conviction checks.
