Korero mo te turanga - About the role

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a permamnent, full-time Team Leader, Graduation Services to join Titoko- Student Success. The role is responsible for the management and oversight of graduation services for all students; to ensure consistency, quality and efficiency of service to relevant stakeholders.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of the University's graduation services, ensuring a seamless and memorable experience for students, whanau, staff, and stakeholders.
  • Manage graduation operations, including conferment processes, Council documentation, communications, records, and quality assurance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, partnering across the University to deliver successful graduation outcomes and ceremonies.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a small team, fostering a high-performing, student-centred culture focused on continuous improvement.
  • Drive operational excellence by reviewing processes, implementing improvements, and ensuring the integrity of graduation and qualification data.
  • Manage complex enquiries and issues, providing expert advice and ensuring responsive, accurate, and student-focused service delivery.

  • Have strong communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills, and are comfortable navigating complex situations, driving process improvements, and ensuring high standards of quality and accuracy.
  • Bring a positive, student-centered approach, enjoy developing others, and thrive in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.
