About the Role
Amisfield is currently interviewing for the position ofBar Manager to join our restaurant leadership team. We are after a hospitality professional who is passionate about New Zealand beverage alongside NZ food and wine, and who has excellent bar experience, ideally including management experience.
Your business and people management skills will combine to ensure your success in helping to foster a collaborative, high performing work environment for our front of house team that helps to tell a New Zealand food & beverage story which is unsurpassed and a stunning representation of our country.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the restaurant's beverage program.

Maintain extensive knowledge of all beverages and wines currently sold at Amisfield while transferring that information to staff in a way they can understand and translate to their customers
- Responsible for all beverage training in a structured format and ensuring the FOH team have a clear understanding and how that applies to the guest's experience.

Understand the general sequence of service and how that relates to beverage/wine service requirements
- Leading and managing staff your team to ensure the best possible beverage experience is provided to our customers.
- Ensure appropriate purchasing and cost control, accounting for variances and wastage.
- Oversee all stocktaking of beverage items and responsible for minimising variance.
- Maximise sales and revenue generation opportunities.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has minimum 12 months relevant hospitality and bar experience, preferably in a fine-dining, Michelin star or hatted restaurant environment.

Bar management expertise with extensive knowledge of all beverage types, especially wine.
- In-depth knowledge of food, wine and beverage operations, styles, and service.
- Excellent leadership, communication, mentorship, and interpersonal skills to lead, develop and motivate our team.
- Refined organisational, prioritising, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities, especially when under pressure.
- Works in a collaborative and positive manner with a broad cross section of businesses and people.
- Passionate about and committed to the hospitality industry and delivering memorable guest experiences.
- WSET Level 2 or equivalent Sommelier qualification/experience.
- A current managers licence or meets the requirements to obtain one.
