As a Finance Business Partner, you'll be a trusted advisor to senior leaders, providing strategic financial advice that supports informed decision-making and helps achieve business outcomes. Working closely with your portfolio, you'll build strong relationships, contribute to planning and performance discussions, and provide financial insights that support both short and long-term priorities.

You'll lead budgeting and forecasting activities, monitor financial performance, identify risks and opportunities, and provide clear reporting and analysis. This is a key role where you'll help leaders understand the financial implications of their decisions while ensuring resources are managed effectively and responsibly.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Experience providing management accounting and financial business partnering services in a large and complex organisation.
\n
• Strong understanding of financial management, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and financial analysis.
\n
• The ability to interpret financial and non-financial information and turn it into practical advice for decision-makers.
\n
• Experience working with senior leaders and building trusted, collaborative relationships.
\n
• Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to tailor information to different audiences.
\n
• Sound judgement and the ability to identify risks, solve problems, and provide practical solutions.
\n
• Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
\n
• Experience using financial systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
\n
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
\n
• Experience supporting business planning, strategic initiatives, projects, or organisational change.
\n
• An understanding of the New Zealand public sector environment and financial management frameworks, including the Public Finance Act.
\n
• A relevant tertiary qualification in business, accounting, or a related field. Membership with Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand is preferred.

• An understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and a commitment to creating an inclusive and respectful workplace.
