We're establishing a new Cyber Operations Application Team (COAT) that will help protect and strengthen critical NZDF digital capabilities. As Product Owner, you'll shape the vision, roadmap, team culture and delivery approach for a dedicated team operating at the intersection of cyber security, software delivery and national security. This is an exciting opportunity to help build and shape a newly established team and deliver outcomes that directly support NZDF's mission and New Zealand's security. You will be responsible for leading the delivery of cyber products and services that support operational outcomes, while creating an environment where technical specialists can thrive and perform at their best.

- Translating operational needs and stakeholder requirements into prioritised capability outcomes \n
- Ensuring solutions are aligned with secure-by-design principles and comply with relevant cyber regulations \n
- Managing and supporting the product team to deliver agreed outcomes and priorities \n
- Overseeing end to end product lifecycle, including planning, development and release \n
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure interoperability and resilience \n

As an experienced Product Owner, you will help build a newly established team while contributing to work of national significance. You will be a strategic and collaborative leader with a track record of delivering complex digital products, influencing diverse stakeholders, and building high performing teams in evolving environments. You will bring:

- Strong understanding of agile product ownership and software/product lifecycle \n
- Significant experience in product management, digital delivery or related leadership roles \n
- In depth knowledge of cyber security principles and frameworks \n
- Excellent communication skills and stakeholder engagement \n
- Analytical and problem solving capability \n
- Adaptability in dynamic environments \n
- SAFe, AgilePM or equivalent agile certification \n
- Cyber security certifications (e.g. CISSP, CISM) desirable. \n

To be eligible for the required level of government security clearance with the NZ Defence Force, you need to meet certain citizenship and residency criteria. Here's what you need to know:

Higher Level Security Clearance
\n\n
You must be a New Zealand citizen or you must hold New Zealand Permanent Residence or have a current New Zealand Residency Class Visa.
\n\n
At minimum, you must hold New Zealand Permanent Residence or have a current New Zealand Residency Class Visa, and you must be a citizen of and have lived in Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, United States of America or New Zealand continuously for the last ten (10) years.
\n\n
You must have a ten (10) year background history that can be verified and assessed appropriately by the NZ Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) to determine if you are suitable for a security clearance at this level.
